Alfa Romeo has unveiled a one-of-a-kind car that it says is the perfect engine for new parents.
The Tonale Edizione Bambini is a concept version of its latest SUV model and includes a built-in sliding changing table, an in-car baby monitor and a range of additional storage solutions.
To help parents undertake journeys with baby, a changing table has been integrated into the 500-litre trunk of the Tonale.
The on-board baby monitor can also be controlled via an app, which allows front passengers to see their child at all times.
To entertain children, the vehicle is also equipped with tablet holders, installed on the back of the driver and front passenger seats, as well as a central folding toy tray.

The same percentage say it’s harder to keep their vehicle clean after having kids – with almost half (48%) describing theirs as messy or messy. More than half (56%) of the participants even admitted to feeling embarrassed to have someone else in their car because of the mess created by their children.
The Edizione Bambini concept created by Alfa Romeo UK comes with a range of features and accessories to enhance the Tonale’s practicality for families.
When opening the electronic tailgate, the bespoke unit simply slides out of the parcel shelf to reveal a bespoke, easy-to-clean changing mat. When no longer needed, the changing unit slides easily into the parcel shelf, without compromising trunk space.
The Alfa Romeo study also found that 43% of parents find not seeing what their child is doing stressful while driving. To maintain visibility at all times, the Edizione Bambini is fitted with an on-board baby monitor, which can be connected to smartphones via an app for use by front passengers and can be positioned for forward-facing child seats and rearward.
For rubbish like candy wrappers or tissues, the Tonale Edizione Bambini comes with a six-litre touchless bin that is fixed to the floor behind the center console and can be completely removed if desired. To clean the interior on the go, a car vacuum cleaner is stowed on the boot floor and charged via the integrated 12V socket on the go.
An organizer helps maximize the Tonale’s boot capacity. Its concertina design allows for easy storage when not in use. The boot organizer also includes a cleaning bag which fits neatly into one of the compartments and comes with a range of products to keep the kids and the car clean including a boot cleaning brush, cleaner for leather, tissues and wet wipes.

Customers have a choice of two powertrains when purchasing the Tonale SUV – a 160hp hybrid or a 280hp plug-in hybrid Q4, capable of 40.4 miles in electric-only mode (WLTP combined cycle), passing 47.8 miles in urban areas.
