The Georgia Republican announced that she plans to reintroduce a bill next week that makes minor transgender surgeries a crime.
Greene was cheered by the crowd as she claimed the Republican Party must be the ‘party that protects children’ as she warned people were ‘left with lifelong disabilities’ by changing gender.
“They are given puberty blockers, which chemically castrate them, make them sterile. They give testosterone to girls as young as 11, 12, 13,” Greene said. “That in four to five years, some of them have to have a hysterectomy because of the damage it’s doing inside of them.”
“There are teenage girls who have their breasts cut off, that is, permanent damage to their bodies, they will never be able to breastfeed their babies,” she continued. “There are boys who have their penises turned around.”

She argued that “we should stop children from making a horrible mistake”.
“It’s not a far-right idea for everyone,” she said.
Greene said his bill, the Protecting the Innocence of Children Act, should reduce such surgeries.
The bill not only makes it a crime for medical professionals to perform gender-affirming care, but it blocks federal funding from going toward gender-affirming care.
Greene suggested he would likely pass the House, with its slim Republican majority.
“Let me tell you my good news this morning, ladies and gentlemen, this couldn’t pass last Congress because, as I said, Nancy Pelosi was the Speaker of the House and she doesn’t believe at all to gender,” Greene said. .
