Security meeting of eight countries on the Afghanistan crisis in Delhi today

Delhi. India has convened a regional security conference on Afghanistan in Delhi today. India has been discussing the latest security situation since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Russia, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are also participating in the conference. The meeting has begun and at the beginning of the meeting all the countries expressed concern over the recent situation in Afghanistan, according to Indian media.

The conference, titled ‘Delhi Regional Dialogue on Afghanistan’, is being chaired by Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Adviser. Pakistan and China have refused to attend the meeting.

India has stated that this meeting will be beneficial for enhancing cooperation between the countries of the region. On behalf of Russia, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Petrov said such a meeting would be important for resolving the Afghanistan issue.
