Jenna Ellis, one of former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election lawyers, admitted in a Colorado court proceeding that she spewed “misrepresentations” about the outcome of the presidential election.

Ellis, alongside former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell, were the faces of Trump’s efforts to undo President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory by claiming there was widespread voter fraud .

Last year, the bipartisan watchdog group, 65 Project, filed a lawsuit accusing Ellis of professional misconduct in a bid to have her disbarred from the bar in her home state of Colorado.

In a decision released Wednesday, Colorado’s top disciplinary judge, Bryon Large, wrote that Ellis agreed that she made 10 false statements on Twitter and in television appearances in November and December 2020.

These misrepresentations ranged from tweets in which she said the “election was STOLEN” to longer statements stating there was evidence that widespread fraud had occurred.

“We have witness affidavits, we have voter intimidation, we have ballots that were manipulated, we have all kinds of statistics that show this was a coordinated effort across all of these states. to transfer votes either from Trump to Biden, to manipulate the ballots, to count them in secret,’ Ellis said, for example, on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria Bartiromo on November 20.

Large wrote that Ellis and the state of Colorado came to an agreement that she made those statements with “at least a reckless frame of mind.”

“The parties agree that the respondent, by its conduct, undermined the confidence of the American public in the presidential election, violating its duty of candor to the public,” the judge’s opinion continued, adding that Ellis “had a selfish motive” and “engaged in a pattern of misconduct.

The punishment was public censure, although Ellis did not lose his ability to practice law in the state of Colorado.

On Twitter, Ellis called it a legal victory.

“It was politically motivated from the start by the Democrats and the Never Trumpers. They ultimately failed to destroy me and failed in their attempt to strip me of my bar license. Glad to have this behind me and stay in good standing in the state of Colorado,” she tweeted in a message to “every media outlet that has reached out, will reach out or claim to reach out to me. the hand or my lawyers.’

Additionally, she tweeted a statement from her attorney Michael Melito.

“My client remains a practicing attorney in good standing in the State of Colorado. In a very hot political climate, we got this correct result,” Melito said.
