Former President Donald Trump said in a video released Thursday that Russia was not the biggest threat to the United States, but rather some of the country’s own citizens, as he spoke on the fight against “the establishment”.
“But the biggest threat to Western civilization today isn’t Russia, it’s probably more than anything else ourselves and some of the horrible people who hate the United States who represent us,” he said. Trump.
Trump, who announced his ambitions to be president again in November, explained in a three-and-a-half-minute video that he believed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict had to be ended “immediately” in order to stop the “third war world”.
He did not specify what peace would look like, but insisted that “the entire neoconservative globalist establishment” must be dismantled, that the State Department, the “defense bureaucracy” and the intelligence services should be eliminated and NATO’s role should be re-explored.
“These globalists want to squander all of America’s might, blood and treasure, hunting down monsters and ghosts abroad while distracting us from the havoc they are creating here at home,” Trump said. “These forces are doing more damage to America than Russia and China could ever dream of.”

He had a long list of domestic ills that he considered more pervasive than any foreign policy issue.
“It is the abolition of our national borders. It is the failure of the police of our own cities. It is the destruction of the rule of law from within. It’s the collapse of the nuclear family and fertility rates like no one can believe,” Trump said.
“It is the Marxists who would have us become a nation without God, worshiping on the altar of race, gender and environment,” he continued. “And it’s the globalist class that has made us totally dependent on China and other foreign countries that fundamentally hate us.”
Trump’s foreign policy rant comes as his main arch-rival Florida Governor Ron DeSantis – who has yet to officially announce a 2024 run – took heat from the creation of the Republican Party for calling the war Russian-Ukrainian of mere “territorial dispute”, arguing that supporting the Ukrainians was not in the “vital interest” of the United States
DeSantis’ stance was seen as a way for him to emulate Trump, whose “America First” foreign policy contrasted with previous presidents and Republican candidates, who were more hawkish about U.S. intervention abroad.
DeSantis, who made his views on the war in Ukraine known when responding to a survey conducted by Fox’s Tucker Carlson, was almost immediately criticized by 2024 hopeful Nikki Haley, the former Trump ambassador to the UN.

Haley laid out the big picture in a statement released the following morning.

“America is much better off with a Ukrainian victory than a Russian victory, including avoiding a wider war,” she continued. “If Russia wins, there is no reason to believe it will stop at Ukraine. And if Russia wins, then its closest allies, China and Iran, will become more aggressive.
Responding to the same poll, Trump called Ukraine “a vital concern for Europe”. But not for the United States.
“That’s why Europe should pay much more than us, or as much,” he explained.
He also argued that ending the war, which has been going on for more than a year, was as simple as getting the right leader to make a deal.
“The president needs to meet with each side, then both sides together, and come to an agreement quickly,” he said. “It can be easily done if led by the right president.”
In his video message on Thursday, he also said he was the only person to kick out the “sick and corrupt establishment.”
“And I’m the only one who can do it. I’m the only one who can do the job. I know exactly what to do,” he said.
